Dear The Future,
I hope that when the dust settles, I live in a nice quiet town.
I hope there's a coast of some kind, but it's not blazing with heat.
I hope to be able to surf and smile and enjoy my time alone.
I hope the coffee shop down the street knows my name.
I hope whatever coworkers I have respect me, and I respect them back.
I hope I can go watch live music and improv and comedy. See art live. Go to museums.
I hope I finish all those games I've wanted to play forever. All the books I want to read. I hope I get to keep learning the things I want forever.
I hope my loved ones call or text often, without me having to instigate. Tell me about their lives, their newest ex, the crazy guy at work, whatever it may be. I hope I get to listen.
I hope they tell me my life sounds boring. Because despite what my actions may show, that's all I've ever really wanted. Normal and boring. I hope I get to see them in person on occasion.
I hope my neighbors are nice. I hope I can cook dinner for them sometime. I hope we become a community.
I hope I am happy.
