Media & collaboration

We protect people who write. Thoughtful reuse is welcome—always with permission.

Last Updated: April 11, 2026

Dear Nobody™ is built on anonymity and trust. If you want to feature a public letter in audio, video, or print, we’re glad to talk—small channels and careful storytellers matter here. We also set clear boundaries: nothing off-platform without our written approval, and no commercial use without a proper agreement.

1. How to request permission

Email only: media@dearnobody.org

Please include everything below so we can review without endless back-and-forth:

  • Your name and the best reply-to email
  • Platform & channel URL (or profile link)
  • Which letter — public ID or full URL on dearnobody.org
  • Short project description (format, angle, how you’ll treat the text)
  • Intended publish date (if you have one)
  • One line: “I have read the Media & collaboration page.”

We may ask for a script or outline before approving Standard collaboration.

We read every serious request; reply times vary with volume—thank you for your patience.

Which address to use

media@dearnobody.org is for permission to feature letters off-site (podcast, video, written), Tier A/B licensing threads, scripted collaboration, and press that needs licensing clarity—following this page. Please do not use it for:

  • General technical support, account or access recovery → support@dearnobody.org
  • “Take this down,” content violations, privacy or safety reports → safety@dearnobody.org (see Community Guidelines)
  • Research or scholarly use → not this inbox; see Research & academics below. Formal data or IRB-track requests → support@ with subject line “Research Inquiry.” Faculty and classroom use → educators@ (see For educators).

For a quick comparison of all inboxes, see Contact.

2. Two tracks

2.1 Standard collaboration (Tier A)

For one letter, non-commercial use: no monetization on the specific piece and no monetization on the account or channel distributing it, and no sponsorships, brand deals, or paid memberships tied to that content. Formats we typically consider: audio, video, or short written features—not books, courses, or other paid products.

If your request fits, we’ll send a short written approval by email. Your reply accepting the terms is your agreement. We usually review the script or outline; we do not require final-cut review for this track when all criteria are met.

2.2 Commercial partnership (Tier B)

Use this track if any of the following applies:

  • More than one letter in the same project
  • Monetization on the asset or the distributing account/channel, or sponsors / brand deals / paid memberships tied to the content
  • The project is a paid product (book, course, etc.)
  • Anything about the request feels unclear or high-risk

We will review your script, approve the final published piece before or as it goes live (as appropriate), and—if money is involved—put a written commercial agreement in place (drafted with counsel).

3. Non-negotiables

  • No republication without permission. Do not read, perform, or republish Mailbox content elsewhere without our prior written approval.
  • Attribution. Approved uses must credit Dear Nobody™ with a visible link to dearnobody.org where the platform allows (e.g. description or show notes).
  • Trigger and content warnings. Approved uses must honor any trigger warnings, content warnings, or similar notices shown on the applicable letter on dearnobody.org, and add further warnings appropriate to the medium and audience where reasonable.
  • No implied endorsement. Permission does not mean Dear Nobody™ or Intelliquinte endorses you, your channel, or your views.
  • If a letter is removed from the site, we may notify you; you must stop new publication and remove or delist within fourteen (14) calendar days of written notice from media@dearnobody.org (copies outside your control may still exist—we’re honest about that).
  • Unauthorized commercial use may be addressed with platform takedowns and other remedies described in our Terms of Service.

4. Research & academics

Creator media (this page) is for permission to feature Mailbox letters off-site—podcasts, video, print features, and similar—through media@dearnobody.org. Academic research use is a different path: it depends on submitters’ optional research consent, our Terms (Section 6.3), and Privacy Policy (including research use of anonymized content). Do not use media@ to request research datasets or formal scholarly licensing unless you are also following the collaboration process above for a specific public letter.

Where to write

  • support@dearnobody.org — Formal research access questions: data use, institutional partnerships, IRB documentation, and similar. Use subject line “Research Inquiry.” Plain-language detail: Consent explained — Research.
  • educators@dearnobody.org — Teaching and syllabus context: classroom discussion, faculty outreach, and curriculum use of the site as a case study. See For educators. For republishing Mailbox text in external media, still use media@ per sections 1–3 above.

Writers can grant or withhold research consent at submission; they can manage choices in Access & Control before publication, as described in the Terms.

5. Terms & privacy

Off-platform use is governed by our Terms of Service (including Section 6.8 on media and third-party use). Our Privacy Policy covers data practices; featuring letters in external media is a content licensing matter, not a sale of personal data.

Contact routing: Licensing and approvals → media@dearnobody.org. Formal research access (see section 4) → support@ with subject “Research Inquiry.” Faculty and classroom use → educators@dearnobody.org. General questions (not formal permission to republish) → support@dearnobody.org. Safety and moderation-related reports → safety@dearnobody.org. Details: Contact.
